Summary
- More than 30% of Ethereum validators have expressed support for increasing the block gas limit.
- The current gas limit is 30 million gas, and one-third of validators argue it should be increased to 40 million gas.
- It was reported that if more than half of the validators approve the proposal, the block gas limit is automatically adjusted.

More than 30% of Ethereum (ETH) validators have expressed support for increasing the block gas limit.
According to The Block on the 16th (local time), Tony Warshtetter, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, stated, "So far, more than 30% of Ethereum validators have expressed support for increasing the block gas limit, a crucial parameter that determines the network's transaction processing capacity."
Currently, the Ethereum gas limit is 30 million gas, and about one-third of validators support raising it to 40 million gas.
Validators can express support for a higher limit and modify node configurations without a hard fork. If more than 50% of validators approve the proposal, the block gas limit is automatically adjusted to the consensus level.
