President Yoon Suk-yeol, who was detained on charges of being the mastermind of a rebellion after declaring '12·3 Martial Law,' arrived at the Constitutional Court on the 21st to attend the impeachment trial hearing.

The Ministry of Justice's escort vehicle carrying President Yoon departed from the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, at 12:48 PM. The escort vehicle was surrounded and guarded by security vehicles.

President Yoon's motorcade arrived at the Constitutional Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul, at approximately 1:11 PM, about 23 minutes later.

As the police controlled the surrounding traffic, the escort vehicle went straight into the underground parking lot of the Constitutional Court, and President Yoon's appearance was not exposed to the outside.

The Constitutional Court will hold the third impeachment trial hearing for President Yoon at 2 PM today. President Yoon is expected to directly explain the background of the martial law declaration to the Constitutional Court justices.

It is the first time in constitutional history that an impeached president has directly appeared in the Constitutional Court's courtroom.
