The U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Kraken recently donated Bitcoin (BTC) worth $110,000 to Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road, who was recently pardoned.
Kraken announced on the 23rd via X that "$111,111 in Bitcoin was donated to Ulbricht."
Kraken stated, "Everyone at Kraken is well aware of what Ulbricht has gone through," and expressed their sincere hope that "he can rise above it and receive the support of the Bitcoin community."
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump pardoned Ulbricht on the 21st (local time). Silk Road, founded by Ulbricht, was an internet site for the illicit trade of drugs and weapons. He was arrested by the FBI in 2013 and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2015.
