On the 22nd (local time), Senator Warren sent a letter to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and the Department of the Treasury, requesting an investigation into whether the meme coin issued by President Trump violates ethics or regulations.
Warren criticized, saying, "The meme coin of President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump highlights the risks of virtual assets," and added, "Anyone, including adversaries, can purchase the meme coin they issued."
She further stated, "Their net worth skyrocketed to $58 billion overnight," adding, "(Trump) has opened the possibility of gaining undue profits by leveraging the presidency."
