There are claims that quantum computers are still far from reaching a level where they pose a direct threat to Bitcoin (BTC).

On the 9th, Paolo Ardoino, the CEO of Tether, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that "Quantum computers still have a long way to go before they reach a level where they can practically threaten Bitcoin's encryption."

He mentioned, "In the future, quantum-resistant addresses will be introduced to the Bitcoin network. Countermeasures will be in place before any serious threat materializes," predicting that "investors are likely to move their Bitcoin to more secure quantum-resistant addresses."

He added, "Currently, Bitcoin that is permanently inaccessible, including Satoshi's wallet, is likely to be hacked and recirculated in the market."

Meanwhile, quantum-resistant cryptography refers to technology that maintains security by developing encryption algorithms that are difficult to decipher even with quantum computers. Various quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms are currently being researched.
