On the 20th (local time), cryptocurrency news specialist X (formerly Twitter) account db quoted an interview with FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) in The New York Sun, reporting that "SBF is showing a pro-Trump stance in his first interview since incarceration" and noted that this is "very interesting".

Previously, SBF was known to have donated $40 million to the Democratic Party and $5.2 million to the Biden campaign in 2020.

Currently, SBF is serving a 25-year sentence at Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center for various charges including fraud.

Earlier, U.S. civil rights groups stated that "the possibility of SBF receiving a pardon is slim".
