Hackers who attacked the global cryptocurrency exchange Bybit have reportedly laundered Ethereum worth approximately $224 million (about 320 billion won) over three days.
On-chain analyst EmberCN revealed through their X account on the 25th that "Bybit hackers laundered 89,500 Ethereum worth $224 million over the past three days." EmberCN stated that "this represents 18% of the stolen Ethereum (ETH)." The total amount of Ethereum stolen from Bybit in this hack was 499,000.
Analysts suggest that the hackers are primarily using Thor Chain for money laundering. EmberCN analyzed that "the hackers appear to plan to exchange the remaining 410,000 Ethereum into other assets such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Dai (DAI) within the next 15 days" and added that "currently, the hackers are mainly using Thor Chain to conduct cross-chain asset exchanges."
