The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has requested cryptocurrency node operators and exchanges to block transactions from addresses linked to the Bybit hack.

On the 27th, cryptocurrency media outlet Cointelegraph reported, "The FBI has confirmed that the $1.4 billion Bybit hack that occurred on the 21st was carried out by a North Korean hacking group," adding, "The FBI has requested node operators, cryptocurrency exchanges, bridges, blockchain analysis companies, and decentralized finance (DeFi) service providers to block transactions with addresses associated with the hack."

According to the FBI, the hackers have reportedly laundered 135,000 Ethereum (ETH) so far. The FBI has also disclosed 51 Ethereum addresses related to the hackers.

Meanwhile, in blockchain, a node refers to a machine that can communicate directly with the blockchain network.
