The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will launch Solana (SOL) futures contracts on the 17th of next month.

On the 28th, Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett revealed via X (formerly Twitter), "CME will launch SOL futures on March 17 following regulatory review."

Giovanni Vicioso, CME Group's Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products, said, "There is increasing demand from institutional investors looking to hedge against cryptocurrency price volatility," adding that "Solana futures contracts will be an efficient tool for investment and hedging strategies."

As of 11:32 PM today, SOL is trading at $142.82 on Binance's USDT market, up 2.39% compared to the previous day.
