Ethereum Layer 2 TVL Decreases by 11.9% in a Week... While Deposited ETH Increases
Summary
- L2BEAT reported that the Total Value Locked (TVL) in Ethereum Layer 2 networks decreased by 11.9%.
- During the same period, the amount of deposited Ethereum increased by 10.17%, but couldn't avoid a decrease in dollar terms.
- Investors are choosing long-term holding strategies by increasing their staking amounts despite the decline in Ethereum prices.

According to L2BEAT, a blockchain data statistics site, as of 8:30 PM on the 1st, the Total Value Locked (TVL) in Ethereum's Layer 2 networks decreased by 11.9% compared to the previous week, recording $40.93 billion. This amounts to approximately 59.8805 trillion won.
During the same period, the amount of deposited Ethereum actually increased by 10.17%, but as Ethereum prices fell, the dollar-denominated deposit amount decreased significantly. It appears that many investors have chosen a long-term holding strategy by increasing their staking amounts despite the recent decline in Ethereum prices.
Layer 2 refers to networks that implement separate mechanisms to process data outside the blockchain, reducing fees and increasing processing speed.
