The CEO of Galaxy Digital has expressed a negative stance on the launch of the Official Trump (TRUMP) memecoin.
According to The Daily Hodl on the 19th (local time), Mike Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Digital, attended Bitcoin Investor Week and stated that "the Trump administration will have a positive impact on the digital asset (cryptocurrency) industry," but pointed out that "the launch of the Trump memecoin has made the digital asset industry's efforts look ridiculous."
He said many key industry stakeholders share similar thoughts. Novogratz mentioned, "I met many industry giants at the Crypto Ball event," adding, "Everyone seemed to think the Trump memecoin launch was absurd." He continued, "For the past 8 years, the digital asset industry has been working to cross a 'common finish line,' but the result felt a bit foolish."
Meanwhile, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has also pointed out that political memecoins could degenerate into political bribes.
