Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is acquiring the U.S. futures trading platform NinjaTrader for $1.5 billion (approximately 2.2 trillion KRW).

Kraken announced on its official website on the 20th that it has agreed to acquire NinjaTrader for $1.5 billion. NinjaTrader is a company that holds a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) license from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). By leveraging NinjaTrader's license, Kraken can offer cryptocurrency futures and derivatives trading services in the United States.

Kraken emphasized that this acquisition is the largest deal between the cryptocurrency industry and traditional finance (TradFi). Arjun Sethi, Kraken's Co-CEO, stated, "This acquisition is the first step towards an institutional-grade trading platform where all assets can be traded at any time."
