Lee Bok-hyun, the head of the Financial Supervisory Service, has expressed his intention to resign in relation to the exercise of the right to request reconsideration (veto) of the Commercial Act amendment.
On the 2nd, Lee appeared on 'CBS Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and, in response to a question about his future course of action following the exercise of the veto on the Commercial Act amendment, said, "I informed the Financial Services Commission Chairman of my position during a call yesterday."
He continued, "Considering the Constitutional Court's ruling on the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 4th, it is wise to speak directly to the President, who is the appointing authority, if possible, as the President's return cannot be ignored."
Previously, Lee had mentioned that he would stake his position in opposing the exercise of the veto on the Commercial Act amendment. Acting President and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo exercised the veto on the Commercial Act amendment at the Cabinet meeting the previous day.
