Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, is stepping down from his position as head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

US Vice President JD Vance said in an interview with Fox News on the 3rd (local time) that "Musk is leaving (the Department of Government Efficiency) but will remain as an advisor to the President." Vice President Vance stated, "We need to reduce the bureaucratic system where a huge budget is wasted, and this task will take about 6 months," adding, "This is the mission Musk agreed to."

Vice President Vance emphasized that the work of the Department of Government Efficiency will continue. He said, "The work of the Department of Government Efficiency is far from over," and "People do not realize how extensive and uncontrollable the bureaucracy was." He continued, "There is a lot of work for the Department of Government Efficiency to do, and it will continue even after Musk leaves," adding, "(Musk) will continue to play an advisory role in the future."
