James Murphy, a well-known virtual asset (cryptocurrency) lawyer, has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) demanding the disclosure of Satoshi Nakamoto's identity. Satoshi Nakamoto is known as the creator of Bitcoin (BTC).

According to CryptoInAmerica on the 7th (local time), attorney James Murphy filed a lawsuit in the Washington D.C. District Court stating that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security should disclose Satoshi Nakamoto's identity.

The lawsuit is based on the testimony of Lana Saud, a special investigator for the Department of Homeland Security, in 2019. According to the complaint, Lana Saud stated at the time, "The Department of Homeland Security has identified and located the creator of Bitcoin," and "Satoshi Nakamoto is a group of four people, not an individual." She further stated, "Satoshi Nakamoto conducted interviews with Department of Homeland Security investigators about the reasons for founding Bitcoin and its operating principles."

Attorney Murphy, who filed the lawsuit, emphasized, "If the government indeed has this information, it should be disclosed," adding, "Bitcoin is a significant asset worldwide. Accordingly, there is great interest in the creator of Bitcoin." He further stated, "As the Trump administration emphasizes government transparency, I hope Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem voluntarily shares this information," and added, "We are prepared to proceed with the lawsuit to resolve this issue."

However, it appears that the Department of Homeland Security did not respond to the media's request for comment.
