In an interview with CNN released on the 8th, Acting President Han responded to a question about whether Korea would cooperate with China and Japan to counter US tariffs by saying, "We will not choose that path."
He added, "I don't think such a response would dramatically improve the situation."
He further explained that such a response would not benefit the three countries, especially Korea.
Regarding the Korea-China-Japan Economic and Trade Ministers' Meeting held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul on the 30th of last month, CNN reported that he did not attach special significance to it, saying it was just a routine meeting.
In the US political circles, there had been speculation that Korea, China, and Japan might have sought a joint response to the US's imposition of reciprocal tariffs.
