Summary

  • It was stated that Bitcoin and major indices surged after President Trump mentioned 'now is the buying opportunity'.
  • This remark is compared to a similar one by former President Obama in the past, during which the market reportedly rose 75% afterward.
  • Experts caution that it is uncertain whether Trump's remark will accurately predict market changes, emphasizing the need for a cautious approach to uncertainty.

On-chain data analysis platform CryptoQuant contributor 'maartuun' stated on the 9th (local time) that "the market reacted immediately after President Trump mentioned 'now is a good time to buy,'" analyzing that a similar trend was observed as with former President Barack Obama's remarks in 2009.

He said, "Around March 3, 2009, former President Obama mentioned that 'looking at the current situation, the profit and yield ratio has reached a level that could be a pretty good opportunity to buy stocks,' which was right after the S&P 500 had plummeted by 17%," noting that the remark was made during the aftermath of the global financial crisis, and as a result, the market rose about 75% over the next four years.

He continued, "Right after President Trump's remark of 'now is the buying opportunity,' a 90-day tariff deferment was announced, and the market reacted strongly," explaining that "Bitcoin surged more than 10% in a day, the S&P 500 soared over 11%, and the Nasdaq jumped more than 14%."

He added, "We have to watch over the next few months to see if President Trump can become a leader who hits the 'buying point' like former President Obama," emphasizing that "as uncertainty remains high, excessive optimism should be cautioned against."
