He Yungchen, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, stated at a regular briefing on the 10th, "Pressure, threats, and intimidation are not the right way to deal with China," and added, "The door for dialogue is open, but it must proceed on the basis of mutual respect and equality." He further added, "We hope to properly resolve differences through dialogue and negotiation based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation."
He also mentioned a response to the US tariff measures. He said, "China strongly condemns and firmly opposes the US tariffs," and "We are studying ways to support export companies suffering from US tariffs to expand their domestic sales channels." He continued, "Despite the US's coercive tariffs, China will firmly pursue high-level external opening."
Meanwhile, Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular briefing that day, "The US has seriously violated the legitimate rights and interests of various countries for its own benefit and seriously violated the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO)."
