In response, Chinese media called it ridiculous. New Tang Dynasty Television, a social media account affiliated with China's Xinhua News Agency, said, "It's ridiculous," and added, "If it's a disaster necessary for China's development, we must face it bravely."
Meanwhile, on the 11th (local time), China's State Council announced a 125% tariff on U.S. imports, stating, "No matter how high the U.S. raises tariffs, we will now ignore it."
