Korea-US to hold '2+2 Trade Consultation' with finance and trade ministers in Washington this week

A '2+2' high-level consultation involving the finance and trade ministers of Korea and the US will be held in Washington, DC this week.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 20th through a joint press release that they plan to hold a 'Trade Consultation' with the US in Washington.

From the US side, Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and Jamieson Greer, the Chief Trade Policy Officer of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), will participate. From the Korean side, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Deok-geun will participate.

This consultation is being held at the suggestion of the US side. It is known that the schedule and agenda are currently being finalized.
