According to the Department of Justice, he is accused of money laundering using cryptocurrency and distributing illegal drugs such as fentanyl. It is known that this dark web operated with a structure that only supported cryptocurrency payments.
If convicted, Behrouz Parsarad could face a minimum of 10 years to a maximum of life imprisonment.
Previously, the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) blacklisted 44 Bitcoin (BTC) addresses and 5 Monero (XMR) addresses associated with Nemesis Market in March, which were confirmed to be used by Behrouz Parsarad.
