Stripe is reportedly preparing to launch a stablecoin-based payment product.

According to CryptoDNES on the 25th (local time), this project is the first major move by Stripe since it acquired the stablecoin service provider Bridge for $1.1 billion last October.

Patrick Collison, CEO of Stripe, stated on his X that he has been eager to create a stablecoin payment product for over 10 years and that this vision is now becoming a reality. Jen Kim, a developer at Stripe, also mentioned that "the new product is ready to start testing" and that they are "collecting feedback from initial users."

Stripe plans to expand this stablecoin payment service focusing on the global market, excluding the US, the European Union (EU), and the UK. According to Kim, Stripe processed payments from users in over 90 countries through its invoicing and payment platform during the first three months of the service launch.
