- The FSS urged recipients of such emails to verify and take action.

The Financial Supervisory Service recently issued a consumer alert, stating that phishing emails impersonating employees of the Virtual Asset Supervision Bureau were being distributed, demanding personal information.
According to the industry on the 2nd, the Financial Supervisory Service issued a consumer alert of 'caution' on this day after discovering cases where emails were sent as if directly from FSS employees, infecting with malware.
It is reported that these emails were sent around the 30th of last month to businesses and individual investors related to virtual assets (cryptocurrency). Additionally, the official domain was forged to make it appear as if it was sent by the FSS, and the email contained an attachment with a Google Form link. Clicking on this could lead to malware infection, potentially leaking system information, IP, document files, etc.
The perpetrator stated that an external committee for virtual asset policy advisory was being established and appointed the recipient as a committee candidate, imitating the official FSS document format to induce trust.
The FSS urged, "Refrain from clicking on links or attachments from unknown senders, and if suspicious, please verify with the FSS immediately."
