Summary

  • Bitcoin recently surpassed $100,000, ranking 5th among global assets by market cap.
  • Ethereum recorded its largest increase since 2021, with prices rising nearly 20% following the Pectra upgrade.
  • XRP saw a price increase due to the resolution of Ripple's legal disputes, leading to increased online mentions.

According to the top gainers on Kaito, an AI-based Web3 search platform, the top 5 cryptocurrencies currently attracting the most interest on the 9th are Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), Sui (SUI), and HyperLiquid (HYPE).

Bitcoin surpassed $100,000 today, drawing investors' attention. This is the first time Bitcoin's price has exceeded $100,000 in about three months since early February this year. With the price surge, the U.S. Bitcoin spot ETF also recorded net inflows for two consecutive trading days on the 7th and 8th. Bitcoin's market capitalization surpassed $2.04 trillion today, overtaking Amazon to enter the top 5 global assets by market cap. Bitcoin is trading at around $102,500 on CoinMarketCap, up approximately 3.2% from the previous day.

Ethereum has been in the spotlight due to a sharp price increase following the Pectra upgrade on the 7th. Ethereum is trading at around $2,200 on CoinMarketCap, up approximately 16.4% from the previous day. At one point during the day, Ethereum's price surged by over 20% compared to the previous day. CoinDesk reported that "investors reacted favorably to the recent Pectra upgrade, causing Ethereum's price to rise by about 20%," marking "the largest increase since 2021."

XRP's online mentions are presumed to have increased due to the resolution of Ripple's legal risks. The U.S. SEC submitted a settlement with Ripple on the 8th (local time). The core of the agreement is to reduce the fine imposed on Ripple by the SEC from $125 million to $50 million and for both parties to withdraw their appeals, ending the legal dispute. Caroline Crenshaw, an SEC commissioner, issued a statement on the same day expressing opposition to the settlement. Ripple is trading at around $2.3 on CoinMarketCap, up approximately 4.9% from the previous day.

Sui attracted attention today with the announcement of its mainnet integration plan with the blockchain interoperability project Axelar. Once Sui and Axelar's mainnets are integrated, Sui users will be able to freely exchange assets with other blockchains without additional procedures. The Sui Foundation sees this mainnet integration as an opportunity to expand Sui's user experience (UX) across the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem. Sui is trading at the high $3.8 range on CoinMarketCap, up approximately 6.6% from the previous day.

HyperLiquid continued its upward trend after breaking through the key resistance level of $20 on the 8th. HyperLiquid is trading at around $23.7 on CoinMarketCap, up approximately 15.9% from the previous day. There is also analysis suggesting that if HyperLiquid maintains its current price level by defending the newly formed support level of $20, it could further rise to the high $20 range.
