Zelensky-Putin Summit Seems Unlikely

Ceasefire negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will begin in Istanbul, Turkey, at 10 AM local time on the 15th (4 PM KST).
According to Russia's TASS news agency, the negotiations are expected to proceed as a meeting between the working-level negotiation teams of both countries.
The possibility of a direct summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky was noted, but earlier, President Putin signed an order to send a delegation led by aide Vladimir Medinsky to the Istanbul negotiations.
As a result, the summit between the two leaders did not materialize. The negotiations will be closed to the media, the agency added.
It has been approximately 3 years and 2 months since Ukraine and Russia last directly discussed a ceasefire.
