U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he might visit Istanbul, Türkiye, the venue for the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire negotiations, if there is progress.
According to AFP and others on the 16th (local time), President Trump said in Qatar, the second country of his Middle East tour, "If something happens in the (Russia-Ukraine negotiations), I will go on Friday (16th)."
The Russian and Ukrainian delegations have all arrived in Istanbul for the peace negotiations scheduled for the 15th. Initially, the negotiations were known to start at 10 a.m. Istanbul local time (4 p.m. Korean time), but there is confusion between the two sides regarding the start time.
