Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, claimed that he received a request from the French Directorate-General for External Security (DGSE) to block accounts of Romanian conservative figures.

According to Decrypt, a cryptocurrency-focused media outlet, on the 20th (local time), Durov stated on his X (formerly Twitter) that "they met with me under the pretext of combating terrorism and child pornography, but there was no mention of child pornography, and the main focus was on geopolitical issues concerning Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, etc."

He also claimed that the DGSE requested IP logs of users related to political conversations.

Meanwhile, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs reportedly denied Durov's claims as "groundless."
