UPSide Academy is the first Web3 security talent cultivation program in Korea, operated by Dunamu and cybersecurity specialist company Theori. It aims to nurture top-notch security experts with global competitiveness by providing a practical curriculum specialized in cybersecurity, Web3, and blockchain security. Notably, it is the only credit-linked security education course in Korea, and in collaboration with five universities, including Korea University, Kyonggi University, Ajou University, Soongsil University, and Sejong University, up to 12 credits are recognized.
The 3rd class, like the previous 1st and 2nd classes, will select a small elite group of 20 participants, and intensive education combining theory and practice will be conducted over about four months from August 18 to December 19, seven days a week.
All participants will be provided with the latest MacBook Pro, a learning support fund of 1 million KRW per person per month, and an activity fee of 250,000 KRW per team per month. For a safe and optimized learning environment, industrial accident insurance, individual study spaces, and a snack bar are also additionally supported. Furthermore, even after the official course completion, continuous support for career growth will be provided through various channels such as follow-up projects, research activity support, opportunities to present at global conferences, and recruitment networking.
Applications are open to anyone interested in cybersecurity, from university students to working professionals, and can be submitted on the official UPSide Academy website until June 29. Final candidates will be selected through practical evaluations and interviews.
Jae-yong Jeong, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Dunamu, said, "UPSide Academy is a talent cultivation program that fully embodies the accumulated experience and know-how of existing experts in the fields of blockchain, Web3, and cybersecurity," and added, "We ask for the interest and support of many security enthusiasts who will lead the Web3 ecosystem in Korea."
Se-jun Park, CEO of Theori, said, "The field of cybersecurity can grow alone, but there is more to achieve together," and added, "We look forward to excellent young people who will join the third journey of UPSide Academy."
