According to cryptocurrency media outlet CoinDesk on the 27th (local time), Jack Dorsey's payment company Block (formerly Square) unveiled a Bitcoin (BTC) payment pilot program at the 'Bitcoin 2025' conference held in Las Vegas, USA.

Through this program, participants can make Bitcoin payments by scanning a barcode, and transactions are processed almost in real-time via the Lightning Network.

Block plans to expand this feature to general users by the end of this year, subject to regulatory approval, and to offer it to all customers by 2026.
