Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has once again suggested that Canada should become the '51st state of the US'.

On the 27th (local time), President Trump stated on his social media (SNS) that if Canada participates in his 'Golden Dome' (the US missile defense system) plan, "it won't cost them a penny if they become the 51st state of the US."

He added, "If they remain a separate country, it (the Golden Dome) will cost them 61 billion dollars (approximately 84 trillion won)."

Previously, on the 20th, President Trump announced that he would deploy the Golden Dome, a missile defense system using space and technology to protect the US mainland, during his term.

Regarding this, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said at a press conference on the 21st, "Canada has the capability to complete the Golden Dome through investment cooperation," and "the Golden Dome is currently under our review," according to Reuters and others.
