European Union (EU) reportedly continues to assess significant uncertainty regarding trade negotiations with the United States, with tensions remaining high.
According to Block B, a virtual asset (cryptocurrency) specialist media outlet, on the 31st (local time), Maroš Šefčovič, European Commission Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, held talks with Gina Raimondo, United States Secretary of Commerce. The two sides agreed on the need to continue cooperation and to seek proactive solutions.
On the same day, EU Commissioner for Economy, Valdis Dombrovskis, stated that "Even as global circumstances become more complex, the EU maintains an open strategy and aims to conclude the US-EU negotiations by July 9." However, he added, "There still remain multiple uncertainties affecting the outcome of the negotiations."
