Fund distribution to certain creditors of the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX is set to begin on June 2.
On the 31st (local time), Sunil Kavuri, representative of FTX's largest creditor group, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that "for creditors who have chosen Kraken as their distribution institution, global FTX creditors will begin receiving payments from June 2." He also noted that U.S. FTX creditors reportedly started to receive payments beginning on the 30th.
He explained, "The total claim amount for FTX US creditors is about $312 million, of which high-value creditors with claims exceeding $50,000 account for about $168 million." He added, "A significant portion of the total distribution amount, set at $5 billion, will be paid out this time."
