'Jjinmyeong' Kim Nam-kook joins the Presidential Office as Secretary for ‘National Digital Communication’

Kim Nam-kook, a former lawmaker considered one of the representative ‘original pro-Myung’ figures outside the assembly, is joining Lee Jae-myung's administration's presidential office.

According to the political community on the 5th, former lawmaker Kim has reportedly been appointed as Secretary responsible for national digital communication affairs.

Kim was a member of the ‘Group of 7,’ which supported President Lee since the 2017 presidential election. He left the Democratic Party due to the 2023 virtual asset investment controversy but was reinstated ahead of last year’s general election. In this presidential election's campaign committee, he served as the Deputy Chief of Political Affairs for the candidate’s office.

Another member of the Group of 7, former lawmaker Kim Byung-wook, is being strongly mentioned as the likely Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, and Oh Kwang-soo, a lawyer at DaeRyook Aju Law Firm and former prosecutor, has reportedly been nominated as Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs.

Yoon Yong-jo, the former executive director of the Democratic Party Innovation Committee, is reportedly highly likely to be assigned as Secretary at the National Security Office. The Democratic Party Innovation Committee is a key outside organization that supports the pro-Lee Jae-myung (pro-Myung) faction.
