Summary

  • 'FIFA Rivals' is reported to be launching globally on the 12th.
  • It was announced that, through a licensing agreement with Adidas, digital assets inspired by actual products will be included in the game.
  • Following 'NFL Rivals,' the NFT-based asset trading feature is attracting the attention of investors.

The virtual asset (cryptocurrency)-based soccer game 'FIFA Rivals' will launch globally on the 12th.

According to The Block, a virtual asset-focused media outlet, on the 6th (local time), this release of 'FIFA Rivals' will feature digital assets inspired by real Adidas products, such as uniforms and soccer shoes, included in the game under a licensing agreement with Adidas.

This new title is the second large-scale sports game to follow Mythical Games' popular American football game, 'NFL Rivals.' While 'NFL Rivals' did not achieve explosive success, it drew attention for its millions of downloads and NFT (non-fungible token)-based asset trading features.

John Linden, co-founder and CEO of Mythical Games, stated, "The collaboration with Adidas brings an iconic soccer brand into digital space, allowing players to feel a deeper cultural connection," adding, "This partnership will set a new standard for how brands can appear in digital experiences."

Meanwhile, Mythical Games is also developing a game based on the popular NFT project 'Pudgy Penguins (PENGU)'.
