The panel in charge of President Lee Jae-myung's remand trial for violating the Public Official Election Act has changed the hearing date that was scheduled for the 18th.
On the 9th, the 7th Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court (Presiding Judge Lee Jae-kwon) announced that the date for President Lee's Public Official Election Act case would be designated at a later time. The Seoul High Court explained that this measure was taken pursuant to Article 84 of the Constitution.
Article 84 of the Constitution stipulates that the President shall not be subject to criminal prosecution during office except for crimes of insurrection or treason.
