Summary

  • President Trump reported that he is increasing military pressure by urging Iran to reach a nuclear agreement.
  • It was stated that uncertainty in the US-Iran nuclear negotiations has increased after the large-scale air strike by Israel.
  • Iran is showing a willingness to expand uranium enrichment, which is expected to increase the region's geopolitical risks in the Middle East.

Donald Trump, President of the United States, urged Iran, which was subjected to a large-scale airstrike by Israel, to engage in a nuclear deal with the United States.

On the 13th (local time), President Trump posted on his social networking service, Truth Social, addressing Iran: "Although tremendous death and destruction have already occurred, there is still time to end this massacre," and warned, "The next attacks already planned will be even more brutal."

He added, "Iran must reach an agreement before nothing is left, and must protect what was once known as the Persian Empire."

Trump also reiterated that he has long warned of military action if Iran did not conclude a nuclear deal, adding, "Iran's hardliners did not know what would happen. They are all now dead, and the situation will only get worse."

The nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States were scheduled to resume in Muscat, Oman, on the 15th, but Israel launched a surprise airstrike on Iran early this morning, two days before the talks.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration is demanding that Iran abandon its domestic uranium enrichment, which is the foundation for extracting nuclear warhead material, while Iran is rejecting this and insisting on establishing new enrichment facilities within its own territory.
