According to News1 and others on the 16th (local time), the leaders, through a joint statement issued at the G7 summit held in Canada, stated, "We reaffirm Israel's right to defend itself" and "We once again express our support for Israel's security."

Regarding Iran, the statement emphasized, "We have consistently made clear that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons," adding, "We urge that a resolution to the Iran crisis lead to a broad de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza."

Donald Trump, President of the United States, also agreed to this statement. Initially, President Trump was said to have decided not to sign the joint statement urging the easing of tensions between Iran and Israel.
