According to CoinGlass data on the 18th (local time), a total of $323.06 million worth of futures positions were liquidated in the virtual asset market over the past 24 hours. As Donald Trump, the president of the United States, urged Iran for 'unconditional surrender,' raising the possibility of US military intervention, most of the liquidations were long (buy) positions. Specifically, $261.76 million in long positions and $61.3 million in short (sell) positions were liquidated.
Ethereum (ETH) recorded the largest amount of liquidations. Over 24 hours, $103.17 million in Ethereum positions were liquidated, with $81.01 million in long positions and $22.16 million in short positions. Bitcoin (BTC) ranked second with $83.95 million liquidated during the same period, with $69.21 million in long and $14.74 million in short positions.
As of 6:20 PM, according to Binance USDT market, Bitcoin and Ethereum are trading at $104,994 and $2,538 respectively, down 1.39% and 1.35%.
