U.S. Vice President JD Vance questioned the hawkish stance of Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell.

On the 24th (local time), JD Vance publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with the Fed's hawkish stance via his X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Before the presidential election, Powell cut rates by as much as 50bp. But now, even though the inflation rate is lower than it was then, he claims a rate cut is not possible. I'd like to hear a plausible explanation for this."

On the 24th (local time), Chairman Powell of the Fed attended the semiannual monetary policy report hearing and explained, "We expect inflation to rise due to tariffs, and in anticipation of increased inflation, we are not cutting rates."
