KakaoBank Files Trademark for KRW Stablecoin

According to the financial industry on the 25th, KakaoBank has recently applied to the patent office for a total of 12 trademarks such as BKRW, KKBKRW, KRWKKB, and KRWB, categorized under △Cryptocurrency software (Class 9), △Cryptocurrency financial transaction services (Class 36), and △Cryptocurrency mining business (Class 42).
A KakaoBank official stated, "We filed for the trademark rights to preemptively respond to movements in the stablecoin market and are closely monitoring market conditions."
Recently, KakaoPay, considered the biggest beneficiary of the introduction of KRW stablecoins, also drew market attention by filing a total of 18 trademarks such as PKRW, KKRW, and KRWP with the patent office on the 17th.
