On the 25th, the court dismissed the arrest warrant requested by Special Prosecutor Jo Eun-seok's team, which is investigating the "12·3 Emergency Martial Law" treason and foreign affairs case, against former President Yoon Seok-yeol.
The special prosecutor's team announced to the media that day: "The court dismissed the arrest warrant for former President Yoon, which was requested yesterday (24th), on the grounds that the suspect committed to comply with a special prosecutor’s appearance request."
The statement continued, "Accordingly, the special prosecutor immediately notified former President Yoon and his attorney, requesting that he appear at 9 a.m. on the 28th," adding, "If he does not comply, we will consider seeking an arrest warrant."
The special prosecutor’s team also stated, "Former President Yoon had not responded to three previous police appearance notices," and that at approximately 5:50 p.m. the previous day, they requested the arrest warrant for him from the Seoul Central District Court on charges including obstruction of the performance of special official duties and abuse of authority under criminal law, as well as abetment of abuse of authority under the Presidential Security Act.
Former President Yoon is accused of instructing the Presidential Security Service to prevent his arrest and ordering former Army Special Warfare Commanding General Gwak Jong-geun and others to delete classified phone-related information.
