Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran, announced on the 26th (local time), "I congratulate the great nation of Iran on its victory over the fake Zionist regime (Israel)."

Khamenei claimed through his official X account on this day, "Despite all exaggeration and claims, the Zionist regime was almost collapsed and destroyed by the attack of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Khamenei also emphasized, "I also congratulate Iran's victory over the United States regime." He stated, "The United States, thinking that the Zionist regime would be completely destroyed without their direct involvement, entered the war directly," and added, "(However) they gained nothing, and Iran delivered tremendous humiliation to the United States."

It was the first time Khamenei had made an official statement on the war since the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. Iran and Israel agreed to a ceasefire on the 24th at the request of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Khamenei refrained from public activities while the conflict with Israel continued. Some observers speculated that he took shelter in an underground bunker out of concern for a possible assassination.
