Bithumb holds 'Double A Poker' tournament with NHN…Total prize pool of ₩400 million

The South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb announced on the 27th that it will co-host the online and offline poker event 'Bithumb X Hangame Double A Poker Championship' with NHN. This is the second time the tournament is being held since last year, with a total prize pool of about ₩400 million.

The event operates by selecting offline finals participants through the online preliminary 'Satellite Tournament,' after which the top players from the main round compete in the finals. Participants will vie for a total of 2,000 seats in the main round through daily online matches held every day at 7:30 PM and 10:00 PM from June 27 to August 5 (a 40-day period).

Bithumb is offering first-time registrants participation tickets for the 'Double A Poker' Satellite Tournament. Participants can enter the event code 'GAME-AA' in the Bithumb app and register the coupon received via text message with Double A Poker. In addition to the entry ticket, new members will receive Bithumb points worth ₩40,000. Up to an extra ₩20,000 reward is provided upon completing the welcome mission.

A six-month Bugs music subscription will also be awarded to the first 6,010 participants, on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, a play-count event will be held where new members who play more than 50 hands of poker can receive up to an additional ₩10,000 worth of points. However, participation is limited to new users who register on Bithumb after June 27, and rewards are only available after completing customer verification (KYC) and linking a KB Kookmin Bank account.

The offline main event, which will determine the finals participants, will take place at Gwangmyeong IVEX Studio from August 8 to 9. The finals will be held at the same location on August 10. On the day of the finals, a special side event for those eliminated from the main round will be held. The 'Bounty Tournament,' where a portion of the prize is awarded for each eliminated opponent, will feature a total prize pool of ₩70 million. There will also be various on-site programs, including a mini tournament in the Multi Sit&Go format, which starts as soon as the required number of players is gathered.
