On the 28th (local time), the virtual asset (cryptocurrency) media outlet Odaily, citing official data from the El Salvador Ministry of Finance, reported, "El Salvador made a net purchase of 8 Bitcoin in the past 7 days, and its total holdings now amount to 6,221.18 BTC." This equates to approximately $668,500,000 based on current market value.
Since becoming the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender in 2021, El Salvador has regularly acquired Bitcoin.
