Summary

  • Arthur Hayes reportedly sold a large amount of his held ETHFI tokens, realizing a profit of approximately $1 million.
  • It was pointed out that Hayes has previously used a strategy of selling soon after mentioning or promoting token projects.
  • This investment strategy has been applied in the past, and investors are advised to note the possibility of similar selling patterns.

Arthur Hayes, the BitMEX co-founder, reportedly sold a significant portion of his held ETHFI tokens, netting a profit of over $1 million.

On the 28th (local time), the on-chain crypto analysis account EmberCN posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Arthur Hayes has transferred 2,468,000 ETHFI to Binance over the past 5 hours and additionally deposited some of the tokens through a Galaxy Digital wallet. He sold an amount worth about $2,210,000, realizing a profit of around $1,020,000."

Previously, in April, Hayes had bought 2,376,000 ETHFI at $0.5 per token at the market bottom. The estimated sale price this time is about $0.89 per token.

EmberCN pointed out, "He has often employed an investment strategy of selling tokens right after mentioning or promoting a project." In fact, on the 26th, Arthur Hayes retweeted an official tweet from the project's account. This can be interpreted as a 'favorable mention' right before the sale.

There have been similar cases in the past as well. EmberCN highlighted, "In December last year, Arthur Hayes also retweeted a promotional tweet related to Ethena (ENA), immediately unstaked ENA, transferred them to Binance, and sold them."
