Trump Reiterates: "Stop the Witch Hunt" at Netanyahu Trial

Donald Trump, President of the United States, reaffirmed his strong support for Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel.

On the 29th, President Trump criticized on his social media, Truth Social, stating, "What is happening to Netanyahu in Israel right now is literally a political witch hunt."

President Trump said, "Netanyahu is a great war hero and Prime Minister who, in cooperation with the United States, eliminated Iran's dangerous nuclear threats," and added, "He is currently directly negotiating with Hamas, including on the release of hostages. Putting such a person in court over trivial allegations, like those involving street crimes or Bugs Bunny dolls, is madness."

He continued, "This rampage of 'justice' could seriously hinder diplomatic negotiations with Iran and Hamas," and warned, "We spend billions of dollars every year to protect Israel. We will no longer stand idly by."

Recently, Prime Minister Netanyahu has appeared in Israeli court on multiple corruption charges, intensifying debates over judicial reform and political conflict within Israel. President Trump stated, "We achieved significant victories together with Prime Minister Netanyahu. This situation undermines those achievements," and said, "Free Bibi, he has important matters to handle right now." 'Bibi' is Netanyahu's nickname.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Netanyahu has been on trial for bribery, fraud, and breach of trust charges since 2020. There are also suspicions that he is prolonging the Gaza Strip war in order to avoid 'judicial risk.'
