Nearly 130,000 Metaplanet shareholders in Japan… Number doubled in just 3 months

The number of shareholders in Metaplanet, a publicly listed Japanese company that has adopted a Bitcoin (BTC) financial strategy, has more than doubled in the past three months.
Simon Gerovich, CEO of Metaplanet, stated on his X account on the 3rd (local time), “As of the end of last month, the number of Metaplanet’s shareholders totaled 128,073,” adding, “The (number of shareholders) has increased more than twofold in just three months.”
Metaplanet’s shareholder count has been increasing rapidly. According to Metaplanet, as of June last year, the company had 29,796 shareholders. In just one year, the number of shareholders has surged over fourfold.
Metaplanet, originally a hotel developer, began acquiring Bitcoin in April last year. As of last month, Metaplanet held about 13,350 Bitcoin. In terms of holdings, this places the company 5th among publicly listed companies globally.
