Tokenized finance platform Ondo Finance is set to acquire Oasis Pro, a digital securities trading firm approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

According to CoinDesk, a virtual asset (cryptocurrency) media outlet, Ondo Finance is pursuing the acquisition of Oasis Pro to prepare to launch tokenized stock trading services. The purchase price has not been disclosed, and the transaction will be finalized after obtaining approval from regulatory authorities.

Through this acquisition, Ondo Finance will secure the legal infrastructure to issue and distribute traditional financial assets (such as stocks and bonds) in the form of blockchain-based digital tokens in the United States. Oasis Pro is an SEC-registered Broker-Dealer, holding all essential licenses for entering the digital securities market, such as an Alternative Trading System (ATS) and Transfer Agent.

The media outlet reported, "Through this acquisition, Ondo Finance is laying the foundation to distribute digital assets within a regulatory framework and plans to launch the tokenized stock trading platform 'Global Markets' for non-U.S. investors within a few months."

Meanwhile, Oasis Pro is a company established in 2019 and is among the first platforms to offer an infrastructure that allows digital securities to be settled not only in U.S. dollars but also stablecoins such as USDC and DAI. Additionally, the company has participated in policy development through involvement in the Crypto Working Group under the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
