Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum (ETH), emphasized that the reason institutions choose Ethereum is because of the stability and reliability of a network that never stops.
According to CNBC on the 5th (local time), Buterin recently stated at the European Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC 2025) held in Cannes, France, "Ethereum does not stop. This is extremely important," adding, "The reason why many institutions trust Ethereum is this technical stability."
He continued, "Institutions are more interested in privacy, fairness, and the long-term value of the network than in speed."
Buterin further said, "We want to be a network that not only succeeds but actually 'deserves' to succeed," expressing, "We hope that future generations will look back on Ethereum as a platform that truly realized openness, freedom, and high accessibility without requiring permission."
Tomasz Stańczak, co-lead of the Ethereum Foundation, also said, "Ethereum has not stopped even once in 10 years. It has continuously upgraded, while maintaining security and resistance to censorship." He added, "When institutions place orders on the market, they expect those transactions to be handled fairly, that no one receives priority, and that they are executed reliably at the correct time."
