Grass launches Android app… Monetize idle internet sharing"
Summary
- Grass announced that with the launch of its Android app, it is a platform that provides rewards by sharing idle internet bandwidth.
- Users can accumulate points through the app, which are linked to a token airdrop.
- The Grass team stated that, unlike the traditional centralized environment, they are building an ecosystem where user authority and rewards are strengthened.

The decentralized network platform Grass announced on the 3rd that it has officially launched its Android application.
Grass is a platform that supplies users' idle internet bandwidth as network resources to companies or research institutions and provides rewards. All activities occur under the user's voluntary consent and control, and it does not access users' internet activity or personal information, ensuring both privacy and reliability.
With this update, Grass has lowered the barrier to entry so that any Android smartphone user can easily access the service. In celebration of the app launch, a triple points rewards event is also being held.
In the first quarter of this year, Grass collected a total of over 57 million gigabytes (GB) of web data. The average daily collection in March was about 1.1 million GB, a scale of web scraping that in the past was only possible for major tech corporations.
As compensation for providing network resources, Grass gives users points, a proportionate quantity of which are airdropped as tokens. In October last year, 100 million Grass tokens were allocated for airdrop at the same time as the Token Generation Event (TGE), and the schedule for the second airdrop has yet to be announced.
The Grass team stated, "Through a user participation-based structure, Grass is providing genuine authority and rewards to individuals who have been excluded from conventional centralized internet environments," adding, "We will establish a new internet ecosystem model where the ownership of technology and infrastructure goes to the users, not large corporations."
